SPANISH TEAM

In order to carry out the dissemination of our project first we had to organize when and how we were going to achieve it. Since we all live in different towns that are quite far away from each other, we decided that we would each be responsible for a different part of the dissemination. We tried to split the tasks into as equal parts as possible. Hereunder we will individually explain what our tasks consisted of and how we accomplished a successful dissemination of the project.

Katie Rose Toner:

For my part of the dissemination I took advantage of the fact that being an English teacher, I am in contact with large groups of youngsters on a daily basis. I thought that a great way to be able to practice what I learnt during the project was to share my experience with a group of my oldest students, aged 15-19. First I introduced the topic by explaining what an Erasmus+ project consisted of and all the great aspects they include. Since we don't dispose of a digital board in the classroom, I resorted to the white board to write a few key words to help with my explanation. I began explaining the difference between a youth exchange and a training course. I explained all of the different tasks and activities these may include, talking on behalf of my previous experiences on Erasmus+ projects. After answering a few general questions about what I had previously explained, I continued by talking about our association, Egeria. Of course, I was proud to explain that we are a feminist association that is based in Malaga. My students seemed very eager to find out more information about the topic. Unfortunately, our time was limited to just half a class, which is half an hour, so I continued with an activity. One of the activities which marked me the most was the one we did about our fears. For this reason, I made each student write down their fears and then let go of them. I also prepared a small video of my experience during the project in Cyprus so they could see it with their own eyes. It was a breath of fresh air to practice these types of activities in an Academy like the one I work in. Not only did my pupils understand my whole explanation in English, but I think it truly opened their eyes to the possibilities and opportunities they have thanks to Erasmus+ projects and the European Union

Laura Sánchez Castro:

In my case, I gathered with three friends of mine (aged 22-24) and I started explaining what an Erasmus+ project is. I talked about Youth Exchanges and Training Courses, focusing a little bit more on the last one since it was what we did in Cyprus. Like Katie, I told them all the advantages these kind of projects have, from getting to know new people to learn really useful information about a specific topic. Later on, I showed them our association, Egeria, on social media, as well as the rest of the organizations that took part in our project, and also many pictures and videos I took there. They were amazed by all this, so they started asking some questions which I gladly answered. Some of them had already heard about these sorts of opportunities, but listening to a real experience from me made them be really willing to immerse themselves into this amazing world of new possibilities!

Sonia Fernández Herrera:

Six young people of different ages participated in the dissemination activity. First of all, I explained the types of opportunities that Erasmus + gives. In particular, youth exchanges and training courses. They talked about the requirements, duration, activities that are carried out and how to find opportunities. The group was very surprised about the characteristics of non-formal education.

After this, we talked about what we learned in the Training Course: Digital Empathy. I showed several photos of the activities and some of the power points that were shown there. There were several questions about how to make a web page accessible since many of them had not thought about it before.

Finally, I used a game with cards and motivating phrases to briefly reflect on what they had learned and how they had felt during the activity. It was a very enriching moment!
